- Math and Spelling Test TOMORROW
Inquiry into Math
This morning we took up the math review together. Students used a pen to make any corrections to their work. At the end of the day students reflected on how confident they felt with all of the math concepts and stayed to discuss which concepts they felt they still needed some practice on before tomorrow.
Art
We completed a Learner Profile art activity today. Through this Art activity, students learned about the elements of colour and line. First we reflected on how colours can connect and represent emotions. Students closed their eyes, then I asked them to think of how the ____ makes them feel (red, orange, green, blue). We then watched a video to explain the difference between warm colours (red, orange and yellow) and cool colours (blue, green and purple). Warm colours typically represent heightened emotions, such as excitement, anxiousness, and anger. Cool colours typically represent more calm and mellow emotions. Students reflected on whether warm colours or cool colours typically represent their sense of character. Then we watched a video to learn about different types of lines.

Students had to select which Learner Profile or Attitude best represents them, then write this Learner Profile or Attitude in bubble letters. Within each bubble letter, students had to draw a variety of lines using the colours that typically represent their character (warm or colour).

At the end of the day we had a little multiplication competition. Students split into two groups and competed against each other in solving all of the multiplication facts for the factor provided in the middle. This was a lot of fun! They had to work as a team to accurately complete all facts, one by one, by sometimes having to correct some of their group members calculations.
