RECESS/ LUNCH

Inquiry into Math
Today we learned about units of time from seconds to millenniums. Students participated in a hands-on activity where they had to silently figure out the order of the units of time they were presented with from shortest to longest. Take a look at how this went:
After this we went through each unit of time and talked about how we can convert it to the next biggest unit of time. Then we did some examples of how to compare different units of time and how to explain our thinking when solving such problems. Our focus was on how many weeks and days are in a year, along with how many years are in a decade, century and millennium.

Unit of Inquiry
Students took some time to practice their speeches in partners. Students provided each other with feedback to help them get ready for tomorrows presentations.

RECESS/ LUNCH

UOI Continued & Technology Time
We had some extra time to practice our speeches in different groups. We then went on to practicing our typing skills on the Chrome books. Students all have their own logins to a typing application that we will be continuing to practice on. They had a ton of fun doing this and continued to reflect on where they should place their fingers on the keyboard.
