December Lunch Orders
Once we returned from Yoga, students completed a reflection on how yoga makes them feel and how it can impact their well-being. In addition to this, students also reflected on how their beliefs, values and self-esteem can affect their well-being, social interactions and academic performance. We watched two videos to help develop our understanding of well-being and mental health.- Math and Spelling Test Friday

Inquiry into Math
We took up some questions from our equation homework and the students were so happy with how they successfully arrived at their answers! After this, they were broken into groups to complete a matching activity on the "Distributive Property." An example was shown on what a matching set looks like: an area multiplication model and two expressions that represented that model. They had to work in their group and make sure that each member understood how to solve which ones belonged to a matching set. While doing this, students were given clues on how to solve matching sets by looking at the patterns within the expressions. Then we completed one homework example together following the steps we discussed. Students are to only complete the front of that worksheet.
Inquiry into Language
We began to learn about letter writing. Using the descriptions that were provided for each component of a letter, students had to cut and paste the components in their appropriate spot on their sample letter. Tomorrow we will take each part up to see how many of us recalled what each component is and where it belongs. Students then worked on a worksheet that required them to write several dates in the correct format. This worksheet addresses how all months and days of the week should be capitalized, along with where commas belong in the date.
