Anti-bullying Assembly
Today is Anti-bullying day. We had an assembly this morning that discussed the different forms of bullying and how it can affect others. For one of the activities students had to close their eyes as Ms. Chiappetta read statements aloud which revolved around bullying scenarios. If students have even experienced this feeling/ scenario they were to raise their hands. Students also watched a clip on bullying, then completed their own anti-bullying slogan t-shirts on a sheet of paper.

Novel Study
We discussed some of the comprehension questions as a class. I love hearing how students have began to make inferences beyond the text. We then continued to read Chapters 13 and 14. Students are to complete comprehension questions for these chapters tonight.

RECESS/ LUNCH

Inquiry into Math
Today was our first lesson on Probability. We started off by talking about a die, it's outcomes and probability of each outcome. We went over the definitions of some of the terms we are expected to know for Probability.
Using the spinner drawn on the board, students solved all possible outcomes, the different outcomes possible, what the probability of each outcome is, and then use probability terms to explain how likely we were to land on each colour.
Students then broke out into their table groups to complete two questions from their textbooks. Once they were finished, they worked with their table group to begin their math homework.

Today's focus was on:
- Explaining what probability is
- Explaining what outcomes means
- Identifying all possible outcomes
- Identifying the different outcomes possible
- Writing the probability of an event happening using proper fractions
- Explaining what impossible, certain, equally probable/probable, more probable and less probable mean and where these fall on a probability line.

Unit of Inquiry
We read about the Mining Industry then verbally summarized everything we learned about. Students began to work on a reflection of what they've learned throughout this unit.
