Inquiry into Language:

Inquiry into Language continued:
We played a language "Scoot" game revolving around quotations. Students rotated around the class working on editing a variety of sentences. In these sentences, students used pasta pieces to represent where quotations should go, along with commas, periods and capitals. We will focus more on the placement of punctuation marks in quotations, along with when we have to use capital letters in quotations.

Inquiry into Math:
Today's focus was on practising making bar graphs. We reviewed the components of a bar graph then moved on to completing individual questions. Student's were learning effective strategies to create bar graphs to help prevent them from starting graphs all over. We will continue to figure out how to figure out what scale we could use based on a set of data.

Things to remember:
- All bars need to be the same distance apart from each other
- All bars need to be the same width (use grid paper to do so)
- The scale is written on the physical line on the side, not in the box
- The categories can be written vertically or horizontally to help you organize your graph
- A label must go on each axes of your graph
- Your title must tell the reader what the data is about
- Your title should sit right above your data-- not a huge space between your bars and the title
