We continued working on our International day information to put on our display boards. Our information and displayed seem to be coming together quite well. Thank you to those who have brought in some items to display around the class for Thursday.

Language Continued:
We continued with our International Day display board. Some of us have already finished our good copies of our work and are ready to past it onto our board.
Unit of Inquiry:
We had our Pioneer unit test today. Students are always allowed to sit wherever they feel most comfortable to complete their tests.
Inquiry into Math:
To begin our next unit on exploring number patterns, we had our pre-test today. This will help me understand what the students already grasp and what topics we need to address in more detail.
Most of the students are working on a basic addition and subtraction worksheet for homework. I've noticed some of us have some difficulty when adding larger single digit numbers (9+8, 7+8, etc.) so I want them to get more familiar with these number facts. This will help them when adding larger digit numbers. In addition to this, there are subtraction problems that involve regrouping. I want us to also recognize the difference between larger digit numbers when regrouping is required (which is also recognizing number facts) (Ex. 42- 7, I want us to know what the difference between 7 and 12 is fairly quickly). This will also aid with larger digit addition & subtraction questions. As you can see, addition and subtraction number facts go hand-in-hand.
