Magnificent Monday

Inquiry into Language: 

Students began to work on their Lesson 7 spelling unit. Lesson 7 and spelling sentences will be due on Thursday. After working on this for about 25 minutes, students shared with the class what they did this weekend. Peers asked each other questions based on what they shared they did on the weekend.

Unit of Inquiry:
Today we explored what forces we could use to manipulate the shape of Play-doh and the speed of a toy car. The students worked in partners/ groups of three to complete this activity. Once they had some times to explore what forces they could use to change the shape and speed of their materials, we collaborated together to see how we can make the car go faster/ slower by using both push and pull forces. We will begin looking at types of forces tomorrow.

RECESS/ LUNCH

Inquiry into Math:
We completed our Unit 1 test on Number patterns. The students read through the questions a lot more carefully and asked some good questions if they weren't clear what they had to do.
