WELCOME BACK!

We began our day by going over the rules and routines of our class to ensure we continue to follow these as we return from the Holidays. Then each student had the option of sharing something about their Christmas Holidays.

Inquiry into Language/Math

After we shared what we did over the Holidays, we went on to complete our narrative OWA and pre-test for our Time and Money Unit. As a class we went through the scenario they had to write about in their narrative. For the math test, we read through all the questions and answered any questions I was able to answer for a pre-test.

This week students are to complete Lesson 16 in their Spelling workbooks. We will have a spelling test on Friday which will only consist on the spelling of the list words-- no sentences or paragraph this week!

Unit of Inquiry

During UOI we learned about the different types of land uses by looking at different communities and how those cater to the needs of humans. We learned about Residential, Recreational, Agricultural, Industrial, Conversation and Commercial communities. After our discussion, students completed a cut-and-paste matching activity in partners.
