We started our day by having students share about the Act of Kindness they did this weekend. After sharing this with the class, the students had five minutes to chat with their peers to share what they did this weekend.
Inquiry into Language
Students completed their Student-led Conference package today to prepare us for our Student led-conferences on Thursday. We will practice these over the course of the next couple days to prepare us for student-led conferences. This year the student-led conferences are going to be held in the Upper School Cafeteria.
In addition to this we brainstormed the skills of a good reader and identified how we can reflect on which of these skills we use, and which we need to improve on. We used this chart and examples of sentence starters to help us writing our DRA Survey Reflection.

Unit of Inquiry
We completed our Who We Are learner profile reflection today to reflect on how we can live a balanced lifestyle and how this is important for our health. In addition to this, students reflected on how they can be caring and empathetic towards others.
Inquiry into Math
We dove right into our Data Management Unit by looking at how to interpret information from a table. When looking at a table, I asked the students some questions such as what the information in that table represented along with specific questions related to the data. Ex. Which book was the first to be published? Which author wrote the most books? Which book was the most popular? etc. While responding to these questions, I had students explain how gathered that information to respond to the question. We completed some examples together, along with created questions for each set of data in a table before students began to work on their homework. We also looked at how we can compare data in a table.
Agenda
- Read for 25 minutes
- Spelling Lesson 13
- Math workbook pg. 76 & 77
