Pioneer Village
We had our very first Grade 3 field trip today and it was so much fun! We got to visit a variety of old buildings, some that have been there since the 1800s, and others that have been transported to Pioneer Village from their original site. We visited an Early Settler's school, barn house, blacksmith, a doctors home and Samuel Stong's house, the Print Shop and a variety of different rooms. We got to do some daily chores, similar to those of the Early Settler's: chard the wool, bake, do dishes, churn butter, sweep, drill, double-stitched a piece of leather, and much more! In the end, we got to eat the delicious goods we baked! The ingredients for the cake and cookies we baked are below. Please check those, especially if your child has an allergy as they were given a baggy with the treats to take home.
Agenda
- Study for math test
- Read for 25 minutes
- Practice time tables (try to practice a couple a day)
