Day 3- Music Monday

Morning Greeting!

Inquiry into Language
This morning we began with Lesson 19 in our Spelling workbooks. Students worked independently on these lessons and reviewed the tip at the top of the page.

At the end of this period, students completed another creative writing activity with the words tickle, detention, and brave. I love listening to how each of them incorporates these words into a mini-paragraph. Take a look at some of their writing pieces below! Keep in mind students only have 3-5 minutes to write these passages.

RECESS/ LUNCH

Inquiry into Math
Students began by watching a video about telling time to the nearest minute: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaOc-4TA4lk&t=4s
Students then broke out into groups to play a matching math game. This allowed me to see some of the strategies used to tell time that need to be reviewed.

As a class we discussed a variety of ways to say one particular time. Below are some examples. Students reviewed the difference between A.M. and P.M. along with how many hours make up a day. In addition to this we reviewed what the terms "quarter to" and "quarter after" represent.

Technology
Library was cancelled today so students continued with their technology program. Some of them have reached a score over 2000! Slowly they are becoming better at the placement of their fingers on the keyboard and are working towards improving their speed and accuracy each time.
 

RECESS/ LUNCH

Book Fair 
This week is our Book Fair. Today we had an opportunity to explore and create our wish lists based on the items we saw at the book fair. Tomorrow and Wednesday students are able to purchase some of the items from their wish list. Please ensure if they wish to do so, they bring their money with them.
Below I have created a wish list of items that I would love to add to our class library!

UOI Reflection
At the end of the day we completed our Tell Us A Story Reflections.
