Inquiry into Math
In math today we looked at the 3-step problem solving model.
1. Main Idea: Identify all of the important information and what the question is asking you
2. Make a Plan: Write down each step you have to complete to solve the problem in the order they have to be done
3. Show your work: This is where you complete all the math from your steps in part 2 in the order you stated them in
Grade 1 Market
After math we visited the Grade 1s Market. Their market will be continuing tomorrow. Thank you for having us and see you again tomorrow!
UOI/ Language continued
Peer editing continued and I had the opportunity to meet with more students who completed their peer-edit. Peer editing will continue tomorrow. Some of us are already ready to begin their final drafts. So far we are on track with meeting our writing deadlines-- Great job everyone!

I'm sure you cannot wait until you're in Grade 4! It's time to register for the 2019-2020 school year. Re-registration forms are due by February 11th.
Our 2019 Book Fair is in just 2 weeks! It will run from February 4th to February 8th. I cannot wait to take a look at all the books, posters and fun school ideas!!
St. Jude's Academy's March Break Camp will occur throughout the whole duration of March Break. Chat with Ms. Hughes-Smith for more information.
Inquiry into Language/ UOI
Students picked up from where they left off with their fractured fairytales yesterday. Some of us had finished our rough copies and went on to peer editing.

Inquiry into Language/ UOI continued
Our story writing continued a little more.... All stories have come together so well. After students completed their "peer-editing" with their assigned classmate they met with me to go over the editing they completed. While doing so I pointed out specific areas/writing elements they need to focus on next time they have an opportunity to edit their peers work. This was eye opening for students; as we were doing so they provided me with some good feedback as to how certain sentences/ideas could be slightly changed.
