Go Ms. Foti's Class Go!

Welcome to Grade 3!
We started our day off by noticing some differences in our classroom this year, and asking any questions we had about objects, routines and expectations. As a class, we brainstormed a list of important characteristics that we want to resemble in our classroom. We thought of what we want our class to look like, sound like and feel like. The characteristics that stood out the most will be resembled in our classroom contract. Tomorrow, all students will sign the classroom contract!

Inquiry into Language
Student's participated in a class Scavenger hunt where they had to find names of their peers who had completed certain activities. It was quite challenging to ensure they asked every classmate.

Inquiry into Math
Prior to starting our first math unit, we played a little addition and subtraction game called "Scoot." Addition and Subtraction cards were put out around the desks, and students had to complete the addition or subtraction question that was on the desk they were sitting at and record their work on the recording sheet. When I said "Scoot," students got up and moved to the desk next to them to complete that question. They seemed to really enjoy this game, which is great as they will be seeing more of this game in the future! The students were so quiet while participating in this game!
Check out what it looked like below!

House Game:
At the end of the day, we had our VERY FIRST HOUSE GAME of the year!

Agenda:
- Read for 25 minutes and fill out information in reading log
- Bring back all signed forms
