We had such a FANTASTIC time at Pioneer Village today!!
Thank you to those who joined us on this field trip!
It was great to actually see some of the information we learned about in our UOI.
We got to see a variety of things such as how a tinsmith made the designs in tin, the General Store, log cabins that belonged to some First Settlers who lived on the land which is now Pioneer Village, and the animals that played a big role in their lifestyle. We got to role play what it was like to be children in Pioneer schools, along with dress in some of the Pioneer clothing. We also got to churn and wash butter, bake an apple cake and cinnamon cookies, and carded the wool from the sheep to turn it into yarn. We loved having to complete some of the chores the Pioneers children had to do!
We asked some great questions to expand our learning about the First Settlers. Here are a few pictures from the trip. More to come shortly...
